UCAC4 catalog

Any idea where can I download the UCAC4 catalog? I've looked at the sites and pressed a lot of links but can't find the actual catalog.

Hi Richard,

The UCAC4 catalog can be found at http://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/viz-bin/Cat?I/322A. Use the FTP link (its 5th “tab”). Although Safari has some support for FTP, it will not work in this case because it is unable to resolve the UCAC4 link on this FTP server. Please see the Preferences section in the documentation (Catalogs subsection) for the detailed instructions using the free Cyberduck ftp client.

Hi Sander, thanks to your help I downloaded the UCAC4 catalog using Cyberduck. Now I'm having a problem downloading the USNO-A2.0 Catalog (using Cyberduck), I get a FTP 421 error, download incomplete. Any ideas on this one?

It seems that the ftp server of the United States Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station is down. I’ve just notified them about this through email. I’ll let you know when I receive any news about this.

You’re right. And I never got a response from them. I’ll put a copy of both catalogs on the website. Currently my upload speed is very slow, so it may take a while until that finishes.

It’s always better to get things from the source, but in case the UCAC4 ftp server goes down like the one for USNO-A2.0, a copy of the UCAC4 catalog is now also available for download at
