Hi.

Thank you for your fast answer. That would be great, because right now the images look awful in the library panel. A way to enable/dissable the default STF for both the thumbnails and the canvas view and even an option to keep the STF you want to use in a single image ( as in the previous version it was possible to do it with the histogram ). Will wait for the coming update.

Best Regards

Good point! Right now the thumbnails always are displayed with the default STF, and you can only change the STF for the canvas. The easiest would be to add an option for this in the preferences. I'll look into this for the next update.

General Discussion / Observatory 2.0: Image thumbna...

Hi.

After upgrading to Observatory 2.0, I have a problem: the images I save in the library are already stretched in PixInsight and in the previous Observatory version I was able to show the image as it came from PI ( after adjusting one by one the histogram ). But in the new version, the new Canvas Display seems to apply the "Default" option not only to the current opened image ( there I can select "None" ) but also to the thumbnails ( there I can't find a way to disable the "Default" option ). So all the images thumbnails in my Image Library now appears overexposed. Any chance that you implement an option to avoid the "Default" stretching in the Image Library window, so the thumbnails show the correct stretch? ( or a Setting to disable the default stretching both for the thumbnails and the opened image ).

Thank you

Great find! I can reproduce it on 13.3. Looks like a regression with secure bookmarks in the latest update. I'll file a bug report with Apple.

Hi.

I think I have isolated the issue: accents. I use the names in Spanish with accents and it seems now that Observatory doesn't recognize then. Until the system upgrade I haven't had any problem with that, but seems that something has changed, no idea what exactly. I'm removing the accents to get the pics linked back.

Are the images for which it happens stored on the same volume as the images for which it doesn't happen? Also for images that are on the internal SSD? Is your library stored on the internal SSD or on an external volume? If you create a new library and import images, are they correctly linked? I didn't encounter this behavior on 13.3 myself.

Bug Reports / Unlinked Pictures after upgrad...
Last post by avalondria2050 - March 29, 2023, 03:15:45 PM
Hi.

After upgrading macOS to the latest version, some of the images in Observatory appear now as unlinked. If I try to add a new image it appears unlinked as well. A message appears: "An error occurred while retrieving the master". The Source Folder is correctly stablished and I have even tried from a different volumen and the same happens.

Any idea why is this happening?

Thank you

Hi again.

Just want to suggest to implement ASTAP API for solving inside Observatory. The INDIGO guys are using it now for their suite ( Astroimager, AstroTelescope,... ) and it's working really well compared to their previos solution: http://www.hnsky.org/astap.htm I think is opensource.

Hi, Sander.

Yes, I saw the new version. It's an improve but I'm afraid it caused another problem. As I have to flip all the images from PI to have the right framing, the overlays only works with not flipped images. At least before the overlays worked right when flipping the image, but now it doesn't. So... I think right now fixing the right orientation for the PI images is even more needed. There are more bugs I would like to report, but I will do it in a separate topic.

Best
