Title: Observatory crashes
Post by: richardsutor on March 10, 2018, 05:59:42 PM
Starting today Observatory crashes every time I try to import an image. Sometimes it crashes before the import window opens and sometimes I see the import window briefly and then it crashes. I'm running an iMac mid 2011, High Sierra, have 16 GB of memory and plenty of disk space.

Still crashing, I can't use it.

I am able to reproduce the issue if I select a source folder in the source folder panel and then choose Import Images. It doesn't happen for me when I collapse that panel and then choose Import images. Does that make a difference in your case?

If I'm reading your instructions correctly it still happens however I try to import.

Well, I just deleted the app hoping to reinstall it but I can't find anyway to do that without buying the app again. Please help.
Thanks,

I have just received an anonymized automated crash report from Apple which can be explained by what you describe (it is likely coming from your system). I have identified the problem and will release the fix asap.

To reinstall it, open App Store, go to the Purchased tab and click the Install button next to Observatory.

Observatory 1.2.2 has been submitted to Apple for review. I wanted to number it 1.2.1.1 since it only fixes this crash, but Apple doesn't allow 4-part version numbers on the Mac App Store. So the "1.2.2" I mentioned elsewhere on this forum, will therefore likely be named 1.2.3. Anyway, if approved the fix will most likely be available tomorrow.

Thanks again. Apple is trying to rule the world I guess.
